There is no better way to burn fat than exercise and good diet. For now I’ll just talk about the exercises, check my other articles about diet. The fact that belly fat is metabolically active is an advantage and makes it easy to lose. There are several reasons why people get belly fat.
Your genes will determine how fats are distributed in the body. People who are pear-shaped their fats settle in the lower parts of the body like the thighs and buttocks. For apple-shaped people fat tends to accumulate in the middle at the stomach.
Low metabolism
Some people eat junk food but are able to keep a flat belly. This is because their metabolism is high. If your metabolism is weak it’s easy to have a belly pouch.
People who eat too much food will gain belly fat and weight as well.
Belly fat can be risky and brings about some health issues which include: type 2 diabetes, heart conditions, high blood pressure, stroke and even lead to sleep apnea.
Effective exercises to reduce belly fat
Cardio Exercises
This is the best way to start burning those fats. Begin with simple cardio like walking and jogging then swimming, rope jumping and biking. Starting with simple exercises will help you burn that excess fat surrounding the stomach. Doing intense work outs like crunches and bicycle exercise at the start will only build muscles underneath the fat. Meaning you will still have the same shape, the fat and muscles nobody can see. Increase your metabolism with these simple exercises, you can jog or walk at least four or three times a week.
The Bicycle exercise
This effective for building strong ab muscles and will give you a six pack if that’s your goal. Do this lying on your back on the floor with your hands on the back of your head. Keep your feet slightly above the ground then lift one leg towards the chest as you lift your shoulders of the floor. Bring the knee towards the opposite elbow till they touch then return that foot to original position and switch sides and start a peddling motion. Do 3 sets of 9-15 reps each.
I know this is not what most people want to hear but it effective and will help you burn belly fat. There are different types of crunch exercises but I’m only going to talk about one. Just lie on the floor with the whole body touching the surface. Put your hands behind your head and lift your shoulders off the floor engaging your abs. keep your feet on the floor, come to a sitting position the lie down again. Do 3 sets of 9-15 reps each.
Interval Training
This is a type of exercise where you combine high-intensity and low-intensity training. A good example would be combining jogging and sprinting. Jog for 6 minutes then sprint for about three minutes then repeat that a couple of times.
It is always advisable to engage in exercises that you enjoy rather than any exercise. This will make it easier for you to exercise and you will be more motivated. The best thing to do is to start with a few simple exercises and advance as time goes by.
