I visited Akita Prefecture's Tamagawa Onsen which is a 70 minute bus ride into the mountains (road closed in winter due to snow) from Lake Tazawa (Tazawako), the deepest lake in Japan.
Here is a gambanyoku, or an outdoor bedrock area that people come and lie on for getting heat energy deep into the body. Just watch, you'll see. It's for "healing" and apparently as I was told by a local, the volcanic energy goes into the body. Everyone is warned not to stay in the area longer than an hour or so as the energy can be too strong for you if you are not used to it.
Also, I took this on an "iTouch". The quality while viewing on the iTouch is great! But transferring it to my computer to edit messed it up as my current softoware cannot edit .mov files and I had to convert. The iTouch is not mine, or I would have downloaded iMovie and start doing everything on that device, foregoing the computer all together.
