Patricia Jungmann, anatomopathologist at the University of Pernambuco in Brazil, takes us through the physiopathologic algorithm for microcephaly caused by Zika. She looks into the stages of development of a baby’s brain, including the initial stages as a fetus and how Zika virus is able to pass through the placenta to the fetus.
