The US Government Accountability Office released a new report called, Transportation Infrastructure: Information on Bridge Conditions. It revealed that 1 in 4 bridges in America are deficient in some way. The next day, Congress announced the passage of the FAST Act, Fixing America's Surface Transportation. It earmarks about $300 billion to address the country's failing infrastructure. Buried in the act, however, were a few items that had little to do with fixing America's bridges.
