Trying to put responsibility on senators to read and understand the heath care bill before they vote because most were not reading it or unable to since the bill was being re-written every day. How do we know they did not read it? It was almost impossible to read it with the time constraints plus most never asked questions and passed the bill extremely quickly just to get it passed. Later on at local town hall meetings the same senators that voted in favor of the bill were not able to answer questions about the bill.
There may be some good things in the heath care bill but there are a lot of cons that are very negative and it is a senator's job before passing legislation to read it over to make a decision of their own and not because someone told them to. This was almost like a dictatorship situation and forced peer pressure to get it passed and not the way of the most powerful group of law makers in the USA.
A plan to help people should be well thought out and not rushed because if it back fires it will hurt lots of people. They need to get it right! Out of thousands of pages of rules, regulations and ways of the new system will work there was a lot they missed and it may hurt a lot of people and not work out.
