In this episode of Code & Coffee, Brian Selby will focus on residential building performance modeling for compliance with California's Title 24, Part 6 Building Energy Efficiency Standards.

Brian will demonstrate how to take advantage of shading to help reduce the overall proposed TDV energy use, then model shading features in EnergyPro and check the CF1R for accuracy.

This episode works with the single-story, slab-on-grade conventionally framed home that was modeled in the first episode of this series. Some of the key modeling features you'll see in action include:
• Review the plans to identify key roof overhang and sidefin features that will reduce solar heat gain.
• Enter overhang and sidefin characteristics into EnergyPro and run the analysis
• Review the shading inputs on the CF1R for accuracy
