In this video, RTÉ news reporter Teresa Mannion provides some advice on driving on flooded roads. Namely, the importance of avoiding crossing a road covered in water. It’s best to wait until the water level drops or to take an alternative route. Flooded routes that appear shallow may be deeper than you think. If the road is only partially flooder, cars should pass one at a time keeping to the part of the road that’s visible. Never attempt to cross a road that’s become flooded from a river bursting its banks. Don’t get caught out when severe weather strikes. For more tips and advice, see: http://bit.ly/1bVZN83.
