WOKING'S Willow Sculpture project has been awarded the Inspire Mark by the London 2012 Olympics programme.

The project to create a 'peloton' of more than 50 willow cyclists started in October, and the results will line the route of the cycling road races through the borough this summer.

Around 5,000 children from 15 schools worked with artist Sara Holmes to create the unique wooden cyclists.

The Inspire Mark is awarded by the organising committee of the Games and recognises "innovative and exceptional projects inspired by London 2012".
