Since MCU audiences were first introduced to Thanos in the mid-credits scene of 2012's Avengers movie, the purple-skinned villain has been built-up as the franchise's big-bad.
That culminated last year with his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, when he collected all six Infinity Stones and used them to wipe out half of all life in the universe.
It's generally expected, therefore, that the heroes of the MCU - Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and co. - will be the ones to undo his actions in this year's Avengers: Endgame.
But could we be in for a surprise? Could Thanos himself be the hero of Endgame?
This theory suggests so.
It suggests that the Mad Titan might see the error of his ways and undo his actions; The Decimation took an emotional and physical toll on his body, which my make him wonder if it was worth it. It might also tear a hole in reality that allows inhabitants from nefarious dimensions to pour in unchecked - he won't like that. The wrath of the cosmic entities of the MCU might persuade him that the universe is in ever more danger following his actions. Essentially, there are a few ideas regarding how he might end up sparing the universe from his ideology - and we'll cover the others in the video itself.
