"Just before midnight, at Scapa Flow, on Monday, July 9, 1917, the HMS Vanguard, a St. Vincent-class battleship, exploded. This explosion was probably caused by an unnoticed stokehold fire heating cordite stored against an adjacent bulkhead in one of the two magazines serving the amidships gun turrets.

"A survivor of the Battle of Jutland, the HMS Vanguard would sink nigh instantly, killing an estimated 843 men aboard her at the time.

"There were only two survivors of the explosion."

I will admit, probably not one of my best, along with the HMS Glorious tribute. Tired, sleep deprived, and feeling sick probably didn't help much. Perhaps one day I'll go back over and see if I can rework some stuff with it. Also, before anyone else can note, yes, there are a few doubled photos in there (specifically, the aft gun turret and a few other ones).

And, before anyone asks, no, this is not the full song. Indeed, as stated in the credits, this is a few of the calmer parts of the song 'Moondance' stripped from the rest and put together. I did not think that the full song fit the Vanguard's tragic story.
