Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company in a co-production with Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatres present Arturo Ui.

Wednesday 26 October -- Saturday 12 November

Box Office: 0115 941 9419

Local crime boss Arturo Ui has the town in his hands. With a winning smile, a machine gun and an army of hoods, he sets out to take over the cauliflower trade in depression-hit Chicago -- he offers 'protection', but it comes at a very high price. Mining a rich vein of satire and black comedy, Bertolt Brecht's no-holds-barred allegory of the rise of Nazism, written in 1941, is a chilling reminder that greed and complacency are all it takes for evil to thrive.

Following on from the success of Mother Courage and The Caucasian Chalk Circle, this powerful play is directed by Walter Meierjohann, associate Director of the Young Vic.
