Video Perfection
So since many of you seem to be extremely ignorant and mindless I'm going to lay it out simply for you. This is art in its finest form. What the creator is trying to depict is insanity and how it feels from the perspective of your own mind. All of the things this salad fingers does represent different forms of insanity. For example his love for rust represents addictive sexual fetishes which often lead a person to extreme insanity. Look it up you fools. This is art. Wake up.

My theory is that Salad Fingers is a schizophrenic human who'd survived some sort of atomic bomb, somehow still alive and possibly dying from radiation (thus his sickly green colour). The loneliness and the deprivation of resources and human interaction have drawn him into a state of psychosis, where he believes that he's a part of the war and his friends have survived. As he 'roleplays', you'll see that his dialogue is actually written on-screen, but the girl was real, thus temporarily breaking him out of his delusional state (as her speech didn't come up on-screen). He has a mental breakdown afterwards, in between what he believes should be real and reality itself. He could have killed the girl afterwards, but there's no evidence. Also, nearing the end of the series, his speech doesn't appear visually as much, signifying him coming to terms with the real world, or giving up in some way. He appears to be more temperamental, frustrated with the fact that it's not going the way he wants it to.

Yo David Firth, when Salad Fingers was pissed off when the girl spoke, is it because he hasn't heard a voice in a long time?
