My first close to landing without a joystick. I tried using an autopilot/human control combination. As you can see, the landing was not exactly the best, but I tried. I am experienced with a joystick, but do not own one myself, hence the crappier landing. This was at KLWM using a Boeing 717-200. It was in AA colors, but i'm pretty sure that AA does not have b717s in its fleet. In this flt i tried something interesting. To flare, I cut the engine and set my altitude AP to 100 and then to 0 to flatten out. The other reason that I was having difficulty landing was because I generally do not use autopilot at all near landing. Here, on the contrary, pretty much every step of the approach was autopiloted, although not ILS. Only at the very end of the approach did I turn off the heading so i could make manual final adjustments. Anyways, I would like to hear compliments and constructive criticism. Obviously i will get much more of the second, because i don't think there is much to compliment on. You can point out mistakes. Just do't try attacking my landing. I alrdy more or less know that I'm not a very good pilot. Anyone who posts an outright derogatory comment will have their comment removed. And btw, I know I prob had a tailstrike and I know i landed a few feet early of the runway and that i landed a bit on the left side of the landing gear so it was kinda like a one-sided wheelie, but watev. U can point these out though.
