At the 126th Annual Meeting in Chicago, this session celebrates the pioneering scholarship of Margaret C. Jacob (University of California, Los Angeles). Discussing Jacob, and her career and contributions to the historiography of the Enlightenment cultures of science, religion and intellectualism, are session chair Jacob Soll (Rutgers University-Camden), and panelists Joyce Appleby (University of California, Los Angeles), Darrin McMahon (Florida State University), Wijnand Mijnhardt (University of Utrecht), Joel Mokyr (Northwestern University), and David A. Bell (Princeton University). The session concludes with comments from AHA president Anthony Grafton (Princeton University) and Jacob herself.
