I think that this opportunity should be allowed to people who do minor crimes. I don't want a murderer getting time taken off of his sentence because he proved that he could read a book and write a passable essay on it. This is prison for God's sake, not high school!

Exactly a year after this video's release... A referee in my rugby game used the glasses to record the game through his perspective. It was a great way to review the game on youtube and I'd encourage officials from around the world and all sports to delve in to this technology. All the way up to the professional levels this could add a whole new layer to the game. As it's 2015 I don't know why this hasn't happened yet.

I'm from Norway so the prison is much better.

this implies all criminals never read a book before jail. how do we know that say an accountant who is in jail for tax fraud, didnt read books all the time as a favourite passtime before committing fraud in the 1st place. how does reading in jail change anything. hes still the same guy as before who decided that he would knowingly break the law

I guarantee that a good 50% of jails won't graduate. I live near a "Hood", and I know a few of them can't speak, let alone read. and forget reading the level they have to- I've tried a few books they're using, they're going to say "FUCK THIS" at about the 3rd sentence in.

Even murderes need to be on this program, in Norway we had a guy killing an other guy with a chain saw and he did some of his time on an island shopping down tree`s using a chainsaw, ohh did i mention that our recidivism rate norway is around 20% If you want people to turn in to animals, all you need to do is treat them as animals. rehabilitation works

Yes, reading for a shorter sentence for non violent criminals would work!
Remember me?
Well I mean for most major infractions 40 days out of their sentence each year isn't much and it does promote learning and mental growth which can certainly do a helluvalot more than locking them up for ten years with rapists murderers and thugs saying think about what you've done that only angers them further prison is a very violent place if anything I'd say it'd make you more violent
