Blue Hill Heritage Trust officially opened the Becton Trail this summer, a woodland path that ascends the north side of Blue Hill Mountain. Named after the Becton family who donated the final parcel needed for the trail's completion, the two-mile hike begins at the Turkey Farm Road and ultimately merges with the Osgood Trail before reaching the summit. Blue Hill Heritage Trust Executive Director Jim Dow explains a bit about the trail and the mountain during a walk with Penobscot Bay Press Managing Editor Faith DeAmbrose on August 2, 2013.
