#330 Who the heck makes videos with aspect ratio of 2:1?

Note: This video comes from a 1280x640 WMV9 file. If you see a smaller player with letterboxing on top and bottom, click on the "← →" button near the upper right of the video, and you'll get a large player without letterboxing.

1280x640 WMV9 will give you an HD button near the bottom right of the video.

960x480 WMV9 will give you an HQ button near the bottom right of the video.

Still, 2:1 has to be one of the dumber aspect ratios for YouTube to implement without explicitly stating a reason. Especially when some folks like ralfonzo83 had 2.37:1 Cinemascope/Panavision/Anamorphic working just fine already.

YouTube's help article on formatting tags. No mention of 2:1.

&fmt=35 seems to be another URL parameter that's supposed to do ... something, but I can't find any sort of official word from YouTube on what it is supposed to do. All the random tips in blogs, where do they come from? I feel like I'm in some sort of William Gibson quest to figure out how word gets out about each new tag.
