1 Cup Water
3/4 ~ 1 Cup Ragi/Finger Millet Flour
Pinch of Salt(Optional)

Ghee(Clarified butter)/Water, to grease the balls.

This is also given for toddlers loaded with ghee as a nutritional feed.

Yes, adding a bit more water will reduce the wastage. And with a non stick vessel we can achieve zero wastage.

You could've done a better job by having more water before you started. And you shouldn't have added all the ragi at once..it doesn't mix too well. The mudde had a lot of ragi in it that hadn't mixed with water, and there was a lot of ragi in the paatre that went waste at the end.
