In this video, Bruno Grunau, CCHRC research engineer, describes the design of the integrated heating and ventilation system as he shows the unit in the CCHRC's lab. The unit is then turned on as part of a test to see how it works.

The construction of the Buckland prototype begins in April 2013.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Chukchi Campus invited CCHRC to be part of a team designing affordable and sustainable housing in rural Alaska. The partnership includes the UAF Chukchi Campus, Northwest Inupiaq Housing Authority, the Native Village of Buckland (BKC), and a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The design team worked with residents to plan an affordable, energy efficient, healthy home.
