Watch as Parents Magazine shows you how to handle picky eaters! If you can't seem to get your picky eater to try something new or even finish their meals, try a few of these guidelines to help pave the way for healthy eating. Above all, be patient with your kids and keep in mind that kids' taste palettes will change over time. Continue reintroducing foods in different healthy meals because, eventually, they will progress beyond this stage. The "one polite bite" rule states that she has to try one bite of food she says she doesn't like. Over time, this food could grow on her. Be a role model to your children as well, as your healthy eating habits will influence your kids' health in the long run. Get your children involved in the creation of the meals by taking them shopping with you and letting them help plan menus. You can impact their ideas of healthy eating by using sensory adjectives to describe all sorts of food. Don't give up on certain foods because your picky eater doesn't like them. Instead, give her some time and try back again in a few months!
