What if we could allocate our resources in a more effective way? What if we could learn from the for-profit stock market, which stretches over the entire planet, and create a nonprofit exchange system to improve humanity?

Todd Kelsey, PhD, is a Chicago-based tech professional, author and educator. His research ranges from website building in multiple languages to digital story telling. He has appeared on television as a featured expert, and has written books on topics such as Social Networking, Facebook Advertising, and Google Adwords. Todd has served as a volunteer for and adviser to organizations such as One Laptop Per Child, Teachers without Borders, and the DotGreen Foundation. His recent projects involve digital archaeology, a system of helping people capture, preserve, and share their stories, especially if they are stored in antiquated technology.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
