A very rare recording with Rev. Thomas Spann singing the lead. Recorded 20 March 1985 in Huntsville, Al. Hardie Clifton had just recently had his heart surgery. Listen as Rev. Spann points out Clifton's part and his part. It was a very touching program. Listen at the end where Rev. Spann can hardly sing. You can also hear the late Paul Owens pushing him on. Sorry for the poor quality. This was recorded using a tape recorder with a condensor mic. Remember those? This was actually taken from the original cassette tape that I used for that program. But I just love this song. And I think Rev. Spann did a fine job leading. I remember before he sang this song, he was showing everyone the article that Ebony Magazine had written about Hardie Clifton's heart surgery. Then he sung this song and had everyone in tears.
