Asan Cancer Center, which has made its best efforts to improve patients' quality of life with 'Integrated Medical Examination System,' has held a cancer symposium to discuss a development plan for cancer examination and the latest cancer treatments. Under the topic of 'Multidisciplinary Approach to GI Cancer,' this symposium was held with the opening address by president of Asan Medical Center, Lee Yeong-joo, and welcome address by president of Asan Medical Center, Lee Jung-shin. Approximately 50 different subjects were presented in four sessions including gastric cancer, colon cancer, gallbladder cancer and pancreatic cancer. There were broad and in-depth discussions on cancer diagnosis and treatment through case studies in an auditorium and a seminar room on the 6th floor of East Building. In fact, this symposium offered a great opportunity to discuss and share opinions on the development of Korean-style integrated cancer diagnosis and the standardization of cancer diagnosis. Asan Cancer Center plans to host a symposium under the topics of gastric cancer and non-gastric cancer biennially. We are going to make the symposium more professional and complete, focusing on integrated medical examinations and actual cases.
