RARE EARTH JAZZ AND BLUES FESTIVAL VERNON BC AUGUST 8 and 9 2009

COMMUNITY - During the 2008 US Presidential Elections Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani ridiculed candidate Barack Obama for listing Community Organizer on his resume.

Kath Raeber is the dynamic driving force behind Rare Earth Jazz and Blues Festival coming to Vernon BC August 8 and 9, 2009. Rare Earth Jazz and Blues Festival is an extension of Kaths philosophy of preserving our Earth hence Rare Earth a festival with a Green message, leave plastic at home, better yet, use less plastic, Earth is our home and we all have a duty to preserve her for generations to come. Kath knows this first hand as she is continually surrounded by her kids.

Rare Earth Jazz and Blues Festival combines the very best of international musicians like 5 time Grammy Winner Buddy Guy who Eric Clapton called the best guitar player alive with more than 60 talented local young musicians co-sponsored by 107.5 KISS FM who will have their own stage and will keep the audience entertained between the main acts. These young musicians have already competed in the Our Kids Have Talent competition held this past March with the winners sharing $12,000 in prize money.

Civic community leaders like Mayor Wayne Lippert have been on board from the start
recognizing the creative passion, experience and knowledge of his constituents. Civic and community minded Sponsors have donated not only money but time, personnel and their knowledge, making Rare Earth Jazz and Blues Festival a true Community Effort.

The small town spirit that was so fundamental in shaping our values of respect, caring, giving and just simply working together for a common good is present, alive and thriving in Vernon. The success of Rare Earth Jazz and Blues Festival will not be decided by the bottom line, but by the feeling of oneness, belonging and being a part of something. The Community of Vernon.
