Whether you use winter wheat grass powder from its natural climate in northeastern Kansas or grown quickly indoors in warm crowded conditions, wheatgrass provides extremely concentrated nutrition. Those who use either or both forms are doing a great thing for their health.

The purpose of the video was to demonstrate that the hard read winter wheat seed people use to grow wheatgrass is grown naturally through the often freezing temperatures of winter in a specific climate. We also wanted people to know that research proves that the highest nutritional level is found with wheatgrass harvested at the once-a-year "jointing stage" in the spring after a winter of slow growth.

At Pines, we feel all green foods of any kind, grown in just about any condition, are good. Both forms of wheatgrass provide a tremendous source chlorophyll and green food nutrients. Our message of the video is simply that growing wheat as nature intended produces the most nutritious wheatgrass.

It is well known that Ann Wigmore, who popularized growing wheatgrass indoors, taught that the best way to capture a vegetable or fruit at its once-a-year peak nutrition is to dry it at low temperatures for later use. That's what we do.

Most reasonable people understand that eating more green food is a good thing regardless of how it is grown, as long as it is grown organically without using herbicides and pesticides. Some irresponsible writers and individuals, who use these scientists' research to support a completely different growing method, have make the ridiculous statement that there is no value in whole food wheatgrass powder.

Obviously, that statement makes no sense given their use of the scientific research to support their growing method. How can one use research using wheatgrass powder and then claim it has no value?

Pines International is the oldest existing wheatgrass company. We were founded nearly 40 years ago in 1976. Our inspiration for starting our company was Charles Schnabel. It was not until later that we learned about Ann Wigmore and her idea of growing wheatgrass indoors.

Pines was the first green superfood to be organically grown and was the first to be certified organic after the legislation was passed by Congress. We are 100% organic and are opposed to growing grains using GMO seeds that were modified to tolerate herbicides or to make their own pesticides. Please join a conversation about those topics at:
