Iraq WILL sue US and Britain over depleted uranium bombs FULL story here-

Ministry for Human Rights will file a lawsuit against Britain and the US over their use of depleted uranium bombs in Iraq, an Iraqi minister says.

Iraq's Minister of Human Rights, Wijdan Mikhail Salim, told Assabah newspaper that the lawsuit will be launched based on reports from the Iraqi ministries of science and the environment.

According to the reports, during the first year of the US and British invasion of Iraq, both countries had repeatedly used bombs containing depleted uranium.

According to Iraqi military experts, the US and Britain bombed the country with nearly 2,000 tons of depleted uranium bombs during the early years of the Iraq war.

Atomic radiation has increased the number of babies born with defects in the southern provinces of Iraq.

Iraqi doctors say they' have been struggling to cope with the rise in the number of cancer cases —especially in cities subjected to heavy U-S and British bombardment.

The high rate of birth defects and cancer cases will move in the coming years to the central and northern provinces of Iraq since the radiation may penetrate the soil and water by air.

The ministry will seek compensation for the victims of these bombs.

We considered the cousin marriage explanation in our paper: Pilot study of congenital anomaly rates at birth in Fallujah, Iraq, 2010  in the Journal of the Islamic medical Society of North America (google it). It can only account for a factor of 1.8. The levels are in fact  enormously higher, about 14 times expected. White phosphorus is not a possible explanation, they have been fooled by this disinformation. It is Uranium of course, see our paper in Conflict and Health. Chris Busby

You know using Bush as a scapegoat is kind of like hiding behind theology or religion. The cities with high rates of deformities also have industrial pollution and the only criminal thing is dragging in religion to hide this hatred for the United States that started the conflict to start with. It is forgetting that after all the conflict that the deformities are caused by marrying within close family triads and the other environmental issues in each region.

+Osmanly atila i agree with everything you said...totally!!! ALL great nations fall..its a FACT,  but the scary thing is that we are now at such an advanced stage in scientific evolution, aka weapons etc, that i am terrified who and what they will bring down with them!! The aftermath will be horrific, if we are even able to survive it as a planet that is!!

It's their choice to live there. Get the freak out. Don't marry your brother or your cousin or your dad. Stop having babies. Get spayed and neutered. Problem solved.

I am sitting here crying my eyes out at what horrors my country has done.  These poor families and children!  I hate Bush, I hate what my country has done!  We also have soldiers here in America that are suffering and the government denies their complaints as well!  It is sickening!  Our country sells war materials to poor nations and makes huge profit through large corporations at the expense of humankind.  I see no difference when I see a mother in Fallujah or a mother here in America.  We are all people and we need to stand against our governments and tell them that war is not the answer and we are tired of the consequences falling to our next generations.  I am just so sickened by all of this.  Bush used Depleted Uranium and phosphorus during the wars not mention everything else under creation to hurt this country and now have left them destitute and without help.  I don't have much but is there a hospital or program to help donate to help these poor kids and their mothers.  I will also go to my hospital in Cleveland OH and ask them to send a team of doctors to help.  We must do something to right this terrible wrong.  Not all Americans are bad people, some of us really do care because we are humanists and care more about people than about material things.  Please, any info towards a hospital or a family in need would be great.

+Daniel Wilks once again, i am very well educated on this issue and o definitely do not need your mansplaing!!!! Also, if you think i would donate to any organizatipn without first ensuring where all the money was being used you are an idiot who thinks very little of womens capabilities! i do not wish to converse with you on this subject matter due to your egoccentric and rude accusations without even the smallest amount of information. All of the money collected by my group of doctors and our teams that we put together was spent on supplies for surgical equipment as well as leaving a team behind to help local doctors learn how to treat on their own. One of our doctors sold everything he owned here and has moved there for 2 yrs to provide as much help as he can! You disgust me, please go bother some uneducated moron. i do not need anything from you but silence. oh and to ensure that, im blocking you!!!
The people living around spent bullets may not be so fortunate. The uranium in a bullet may vaporize and burn when it strikes an armored vehicle, producing fine dusts of uranium and uranium compounds. These are toxic (most heavy metals are poisonous), and can be ingested. Alpha particles don't travel very far, but if the uranium is ingested into someone's body, they don't have to travel anywhere to cause their damage. It is a separate debate entirely if the residents of a country where a war is fought with depleted uranium ammunition are at an elevated health risk. Certainly the presence of depleted uranium will not make anyone any healthier. Look at the Atomic Heart foundation and Strontium 290 contamination. This was in potatoes and root crops. So concentrated levels of heavy metals may be in the regions where weapons production or storage was done in the past. So planting any crops ther may result in higher births defects from the fin powder form of DU or any other lesser form of heavy metal isotope.

I am a British citizen with light brown hair, white skin, etc., but for most of my life I have hated my country because of its wars, its pollution, and its Imperialism. There is something important which I wish to tell the people of Iraq: Like most of my fellow UK citizens, I opposed the wars and the weapons which my country's leaders forced upon you. Our leaders ignored the will of the people when they went to fight a war in your country. For most of my life I have not, and still do not, own a TV, because I refuse to accept the biased news and pathetic "reality" tv shows which are about as far from reality as our foreign policy is from justice! I also want the people of Iraq to know that our military personnel are also suffering from the effects of so-called "Depleted Uranium", white Phosphorus, and all the other toxic substances used in the mess of war. Some are left with physical disabilities while many suffer mental scars as a result of what they did and what they witnessed. While our troops were away from home in the insanity of war, killing innocent people in Iraq and elsewhere, their military commanders ensure that the troops believe they are fighting for a good cause. But later, when they leave the war-zone and return home, many realise it was all just a lie. Some are unable to live with their actions and take their own lives while the rest re-live the war over and over in their minds, tortured by their memories. In war, everyone loses, but the extensive use of Depleted Uranium and White Phosphorus in Iraq has left a greater horror which ordinary Iraqi people have to live with. But that horror also aflicts UK and US troops who were also exposed to these highly toxic weapons. They too developed serious health problems which leave them unable to work and support their families. I personally have never been to Iraq and have no direct experience of the horrors which my country has inflicted on your people, and its own. But I have educated myself as well as I can, and as a result of that I have shed tears for you. I also do my best to educate anyone I meet who does not know about these issues. I wish for peace and good health to everyone in Iraq, and to everyone everywhere - as soon as possible. Peace x

My biggest concern is that many programs that collect money cannot be trusted.  We all donated to Haiti to find out years later the money is missing!  Also, one has to be extremely protective of sending money overseas because if something doesn't check out and people acquire money through you that shouldn't our own government can accuse us of aiding war criminals.  I guess I just wanted something that I could contact and make sure it could be vetted out and that the money was really going to a specific hospital or clinic.  I did some research last night and found a program through England that looks promising.  It helps all children who have been poisoned from radiological products and got its start from the chernobyl disaster.  They are supposed to get back with me and connect me with their organization working in fallujah and hopefully I will be able to help a specific child and trade letters.  I crochet so I thought a cute little snuggle blanket and matching toy could be made and sent over.  It makes me so angry to see children and families dying and sick because of war and the horrible lies and weapons our country has used.  I hate war, I'm a humanist.  I would probably be the weirdo sicking a flower in the end of a gun barrel in the middle of a war zone if I had the chance.  Humanity is such an odd word since humans know so little of how to show it towards one another.  Thanks for looking for me.  If this does prove to be a positive route would you like the information yourself?  I could post it to you.  take care!

+Nikki Travis Hi Nikki. I just did a Google' search entitled - How to help people in Fallujah - It delivered many helpful results, most following the same theme as the video above. This is clearly a disaster of unimaginable proprtions. I don't want to recommend any one organisation or source of information since I don't know enough about them. However, I have always found Wikipedia to be pretty accurate and objective - and there are Wiki Links at the top of that page, so that may be a good place to learn more about the situation before deciding how you can best help. Best wishes. Peace

This is pure bullshit. The real reason behind the high rates of birth defects over there is because these muslim idiots tend to marry their own first cousins. I should know because I had to spend one year in Iraq on military service there. To be honest I dont like Iraqis because of the hostile attitudes they showed to us after we liberated them from Saddam. The 2003 invasion was a mistake and Iraqis themselves are one of natures mistakes.

+kortenful You are horrible misinformed! These poor people are dealing with the same issues our own men and women from these wars are suffering from only it is called Gulf War Syndrome here. Our country used Depleted Uranium and all kinds of horrible explosives and phosphorus materials that cause deformities. These materials are fine particulates left in the sand to be breathed in, eaten with food and even in the water supply! You are an idiot! You make Americans look like horrible hateful people and we are not! Although, you would make a fine candidate for a republican political party! Please crawl back under the rock from which you came!
+kortenful to be honest I don't like Iraqis because they were not nice to me. Daba  daba du that all folks!
