Instructions on how to get Channel Announcement Into your XTS25000 XTS5000 Radio (Thanks Ko and Mike - Couldn't have done it without your help! :)

Basic Instructions: (Thanks to Ko and Mike!)

Once you read the radio,go to VIEW,OPTIONS,CHANNEL ANNOUCEMENT OPTIONS TAB.

Then make sure there is a check mark under,"when reading/opening codeplugs,always retain any existing voice file on the PC."

Also,make sure there is a check mark "when compressing voice files,always retain any existing voice file on the PC."

Last,make sure there is a check mark in "Read/write Voice Files."Has a check mark.

Then go to TOOLS,Voice Files,Voice file compression.For Voice Files Input location,make sure to specify the folder your properly.

Configured raw WAV files are by using BROWSE option to specify the exact folder the files are under.

Leave the Voice file output location as default,as it is.

Then press COMPRESS button below.

Note:Make sure each voice wav files are "pcm 8.0kHZ,16 bit Mono"by using the windows voice recorder before you compress.

Then,go to TOOLS,USER SETTINGS.Voice File settings location:Press BROWSE Button and point out the location of the Voice File even though the default location is shown.Then you will get a message about unzipping etc and say yes and continue.

Then,under zone channel assignment,go to channels and under channel annoucement,you will be able to select your channel annoucement voice file.

If you need the CPS directions,its under HELP,search for voice annoucement and this is all documented to read from the self help files.

Note:Make sure all the above is done with the radio connected to the pc and the radio on or it will not work!

From Mike's Description Instructions:

You open the program up, record whatever name you want your channel to be. Then, make SURE you go down to "Project Rate" Change it from 44100 to 8000. That's why it wasn't working originally, I had it set at 44100 insted of 8000. Then, once the voice file is done, hit stop, go to "File", "Export", then got into the "voice" file under the Motorola ASTRO 25 CPS, and store them all in there (moto voice files)
