This song, a parody of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlement," was written in the 1970s by a Unitarian Universalist minister. It was originally intended to poke fun at the Unitarian willingness to celebrate every holiday in December *except* Christmas. Since that time, however, it's become a kind of anti-Christmas anthem with an audience far beyond its original intent.
