Snow monkeys make quite a splash! Check out the splash-diving antics of animals living as freely as they can at the Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary.
Located in Dilley, Texas on 186 acres, the sanctuary recognizes the importance of social companionship, group living, space, and an enriching environment to meet the physiological, social, behavioral, and psychological needs of our residents as best we can.
The focus of animal care at the sanctuary is to provide conditions in which the captive populations of macaques, baboons, and vervets are allowed to live out the remainder of their lives with extensive freedom of movement, choice of food, and choice of companions, in accordance with their social nature. We aim to provide a lifelong, high standard of care without being needlessly intrusive. The Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary is unique in the quality of life that the majority of residents experience, living in free-ranging groups in natural enclosures of several acres... including ponds for frolicking, like this one.
The Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary provides a safe, permanent home for more than 600 nonhuman primates, many of whom were rescued from abusive situations in research facilities, roadside zoos, or private possession. Learn more at www.bornfreeusa.org/sanctuary.
