"Even those who've managed to dodge bullets can't escape fatal diseases".
MSF launched a non-communicable diseases (NCDs) project in December 2014 in two clinics located in the northern Jordanian governorate of Irbid, close to the Syrian borders.
The project offers free-of-charge medical treatment to Syrian refugees living in host communities and vulnerable Jordanians who are suffering from chronic diseases; such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, cardiovascular diseases (CVD), and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD).
As of November 2016, MSF has conducted more than 44,000 consultations, including home visits, and provided more than 1600 psychosocial support sessions since their introduction in April 2016. MSF partnered with the Arabian Medical Relief Society (AMR) and in collaboration with the Jordanian Health Ministry in Irbid governorate, northern Jordan.
