Should an unelected city employee be given so much power to condemn lands? Condemning for 'public purpose' and 'public safety" may sound as warm as motherhood and apple pie. But it is wrong to conveniently hide behind these politically correct phrases when no due process or public disclosure is accorded to affected neighbors and community.

If one examines all the records, including the defective environmental assessment report, one has to come to the conclusion that this is NOT a condemnation by necessity. This employee refuses to explore other very viable options.
