Hi, I recently moved out on my own & ditched a lot of my stuff, including a 6-drawer dresser, 2 plastic shelf drawers (3 drawers each) & now I only have one black dresser to put all my stuff in. Needless to say I wasn't able to put all my clothes, intimate wears, socks/stockings, pants & tops into this dresser .. So I came up with this idea to use EMPTY SHOPPING PAPER BAGS for storage.
The idea came from my reluctance to part with these beautiful & colourful bags I've acquired from shopping. They are all in perfect conditions, strong & stable, it would have been a waste to throw them out or tuck them away waiting for a chance to use them.
By recycling these babies for storage use, I don't have to go out and spend money on new a new dresser or buy new drawers that could take up a lot of space - space that my apartment doesn't have. I hope you'll find inspirations from this idea & go on to organize your clothes or come up with new ways to store things.
Tips: - Only keep the pretty, high-quality bags with brand-names. Not only they provide the support you'll need to store your stuff without ripping, it will always look like you just got back from shopping. - Also keep high-quality bags with bows & patterns, the ones you'd use to store Christmas presents. & I love Christmas! - Pastel colors & minimalist design work best. Too many colors & patterns will clutter your space. - When storing big, heavy binders - place the heavy items in the middle and fill up space with smaller books to create balance, so the bag won't fall over. - Always tidy & organize your belongings by categories: clothing, books, make-up, etc. Avoid tidying by areas. - Find & read "the life changing magic of tidying up". It changed my life.
