Watch as Parents Magazine gives you step-by-step handwriting tips on how to teach handwriting to children! Before your child starts handwriting, it's important to make sure he is holding his pencil or crayon the right way. This will improve your kid's handwriting and make handwriting practice easier. Your child should be holding his pencil with either a tripod grasp or a quadrapod grasp. A tripod grasp is when the pencil is held between the thumb, index, and side of the middle finger. A quadrapod grasp uses the thumb, index, middle finger, and the side of the ring finger. Keep these handwriting tips in mind when teaching handwriting to your child!
