http://www.homesforourtroops.org/lindsey - Army CPL Joshua Lindsey was deployed to Iraq, attached to the 3rd Infantry Division, when he was severely injured in February 2005. While on a patrol over-watch for his battalion he was shot, and then hit by two 81mm mortars. After being airlifted to Germany, CPL Lindsey was transported to Eisenhower Army Medical Center in CA before being later transferred to first Martin and then Winn Army Hospitals, in Georgia, where he remained for more than ten months. Josh has been left a paraplegic as a result of the attack.

Josh enjoys hand cycling, weight lifting and competitive shooting. He is also an avid reader. He hopes to one day learn to fly planes. CPL Lindsey would like to return to his home state of Georgia to be near the Shepherd Center where they specialize in treating spinal cord injuries in order to receive his physical therapy from a facility that best meets his needs.
