May 17 is International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO). Bendigo commemorated this very special day by taking the biggest picture of people against hompophobia
The day was a really good start for what we hope will be an ever growing campaign of people who are prepared to stand up against homophobia. Approximately 150 people from all walks of life came together at the QEO for the picture. We also had Lisa Ruffel from the City of Greater Bendigo Council, Greg Adkins the convenor of the Anti-violence Project and leader of the IDAHO Campaign in Victoria and Scott Davis the manager of the Gay and Lesbian Liaison Officers of Victoria Police come along and throw their support behind the Bendigo says NO campaign.
We would like to say a big thanks to all who attended on the day and hope that next year we can make it even bigger and better!
