Laura traveled from Washington D.C. to celebrate her comeback after a 3 year process of weight loss and life improvement. She had that type of hair that is curly in the nape and sides but straight on top. The cut had already been layered and I wanted to leave as much hair as possible hoping to create a style she could duplicate. I figured it would be easier for her to use a flat iron to smooth the curls rather than try to add fullness on the top to balance the sides. So we came up with this.

Laura: Hi, I'm Laura and I'm from Washington DC, and the reason I'm here is I want a major makeover after losing a lot of weight. I had seen a book called The Beauty Equation, which deals more with beauty from the inside out, and it's great for folks who are much younger than I am but I really wanted something that was more age appropriate and I had been reading and looking for makeovers and I found your site on line and then read about your affiliation with the Oprah show and I thought it was good enough for Oprah, it's good enough for me.
Christopher: Hi.
Laura: Hi.
Christopher: Well who are you?
Laura: I'm Laura.
Christopher: I'm Christopher, I'm well thank you, it's nice to meet you. So, what's the story?
Laura: The story is, I had a major weight loss and I've decided I want something that makes me perky as I feel.
Christopher: Okay.
Laura: Okay?
Christopher: You need to be perkier.
Laura: Perkier, and you're dealing with a real beginner here.
Christopher: On doing you hair?
Laura: Yeah.
Christopher: How is this different than it used to be?
Laura: I used to have long hair. I can show you a really horrible picture, but I don't want it on the web. But no purple Mohawks.
Christopher: Needs protein, it's weak, your hair is kind of weak, elasticity and I've got to find the right product for you.
Having a lot longer discussion on life. I will be focusing on her hair too. Send in a picture and let me know, so I could look at if first, say "Grow your hair out." Yeah that's a good idea.
Laura: And tell us how long you want us to grow it out before we [inaudible 00:01:53].
Speaker 3: I'd say avoid a lot of that, I think you're going to be a lot happier.
Laura: Yeah.
Christopher: Is she adorable?
Laura: The finished product here, sort of. I have loved the whole day, I've loved what you've done for me, I'm very grateful. This is just a wonderful celebration after three years of trying.
Christopher: You're not going to show your before picture are you?
Laura: Oh no, don't put me through that, no, no, no. But really, thank you.
I would love to have a perkier look because I feel perkier and I would like to have some make up redo. And just be more lively.
I like to being able to see myself go back in time and become younger and I came in wanting to be perky and I think I've come back a little sassier and that's wonderful and I've laughed through the whole day.
Christopher: Happy, are you happy?
Laura: I'm very happy.
Christopher: All right.
