Disturbing Video Shows Beached Whale at SeaWorld Orlando

Disturbing video has emerged of a beached pilot whale struggling to get back into the water at SeaWorld in Florida.

Cast members and trainers from the show had left the stage because of lightning in the area but the animals were still in the tank, 10 News reports.

Video shows the pilot whale, which was reportedly stuck for 10 minutes, struggle as it tries to get itself off a ledge at the edge of the pool.

It shows the whale trying to flip itself repeatedly back into the water while other dolphins also come and try to push it back in.

Carlo De Leonibus, 33, who filmed the footage, told 10 News that a SeaWorld worker told him it was "normal" after he went and asked for something to be done to help the animal.

However, as time goes on, the disturbed crowd can be heard screaming, demanding someone do something.

Eventually two trainers pushed the whale back into the water.

Mr Leonibus, who was at SeaWorld for his daughter's 11th birthday, said she was heartbroken by the incident.

"She was crying at night. She was really upset. She felt that SeaWorld was going to take care of their animals," he told 10 News.

SeaWorld spokesman Nick Gollattscheck said the incident had no effect on the whale's health or wellbeing.
