An audio recording made on November 18, 1978, at the Peoples Temple compound in Jonestown, Guyana immediately preceding and during the mass suicide or murder of over 900 members of the cult.http://www.facebook.com/jonestownpeop... Survivors of the tragedy have staunchly maintained that Jim Jones was "an employee, servant, agent or operative of the CIA". In October 1981 the survivors launched a $63 million lawsuit against Secretary of State Cyrus Vance and Stansfield Turner, former Director of the CIA. The suit, filed in U.S. district court of San Francisco, accused Turner of Conspiring with Agency operatives to "enhance the economic and political powers of James Warren Jones", and of conducting "mind control and drug experimentation" on the followers. The lawsuit was dismissed four months later for "failure to prosecute timely." All requests for an appeal were denied.
