This is not a film about Bikes as most of mine are.

I made this one for my Friend Pyotr Patrushev, whose story of how he swam from the Soviet Union to Turkey and to a new life, has always fascinated me.

In the 60's, he was a traitor to his country for escaping the Soviet Union. Today, he's a top interpreter, and when Vladimir Putin came to Australia, it was Pyotr Patrushev, the traitor, who interpreted.

Life takes strange twists. His story has been published in Russian but not yet in English. It deserves a hearing

Parts two and three, Pyotr's escape from the brutal Soviet army brigade, his feigning madness, and his actual swim in 1962 from the Soviet Union to Turkey, will follow , as soon as we get them done.

Indeed, part two is already available , searchable as. The Man who Swam from Russia. part Two. Mike Rubbo
