Biologists at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) use remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to observe marine life behavior in the deep sea. These high definition video clips from the ROVs show different ways animals in the deep form groups. Aggregating can increase an animal's chances of surviving predation, capturing food or meeting a mate.
Script & narration by Jane Lee, MBARI/UCSC student intern.
