This iPhone video starts out a little crooked (see the fisheye video I uploaded too), but captures both the sight and sound of a 22-story Delta IV rocket roaring into orbit from Complex 37B at Cape Canaveral shortly after sunset, at 8:29pm EDT on August 7, 2013. Taken from 2.7 miles away. The vehicle delivered the WGS-6 military wideband communications satellite into orbit atop over 1.4 million pounds of thrust. Crank your speakers and click HD to get the feel of what it is like to view a rocket launch from just a few miles away.
