Overview of the P08 "Luger" 9mm pistol.
At 0:42, There's plenty of other videos on YouTube about the Luger so what am I going to do that is different? I will show Features and operation, loading, firing, and unloading, with Close up high-definition video.
At 2:30, I talk about the markings on the outside of the Luger, what it means to have "Matching numbers".
At 3:20, How to load. You can fit 8 rounds in the magazine but you can only seat the magazine if the toggle action is open. If the toggle action is closed, you can only insert a magazine with 7 rounds due to the top round being compressed.
At 4:05, On mine, I have to turn the safety off to open the toggle, this depends on the position of the striker and sear (e.g. if it has been dry-fired).
At 4:21, How the toggle action works when the pistol is fired, how rounds eject straight up.
At 5:25 the sound is messed-up, I am saying "the toggle locks open but there is no button for a slide release like on modern pistols, the only way to release the toggle back to closed is to remove the magazine and pull the toggle by hand. Now I will show you some live-fire footage from the range."
At 5:39 I show live fire footage of me shooting this at the shooting-range.
At 6:08, I show some slow-motion images so you can see the toggle action.
At 6:18 I talk about the sight picture.
At 6:43 how to safely unload the Luger if you found it loaded.
One thing unusual about the Luger is that sometimes you cannot open the toggle when the safety is on; this depends on whether or not the striker is ahead of the sear or behind it.
