A woman in the US brutally attacked by her estranged husband has had a full face transplant in Boston, United States. Carmen Bladin Tarleton, a 44-year-old registered nurse and mother of two from Vermont, was doused with industrial strength lye in 2007 burning over 80 per cent of her body. The transplant was performed by Brigham and Women's Hospital doctors to Ms Tarleton's neck, nose, lips, and facial muscles, arteries and nerves. She has undergone more than 50 surgeries since the attack, including work to restore some of her vision. Report by Katie Lamborn.
