USAF Thunderbirds F16 fast jet formation aerobatic team display at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire on Saturday 2nd July 2011. Fast, furious and thunderously loud, the Thunderbirds gave an excellent, dynamic aerobatic and formation flying display to a large appreciative crowd.
Part of the car park and display line to the south of the airfield had to be cleared of people for the duration of the Thunderbirds display. The reason seems to be to allow the spectacular crossing manoeuvre at 06:45 minutes and diagonal passes that would otherwise cross the crowd line. There are strict rules in the UK about passes over the crowd. The Thunderbirds display was well worth the temporary inconvenience. Unfortunately the new vantage point came with the sound of camera shutters.
The flying display is followed by the synchronized ground crew display when the F16 Fighting Falcons taxied in and parked after landing. I had to edit this down but it certainly adds to the entertainment of the overall Thunderbirds experience.
