Here is a FULL review of the GTX 970 G1 Gaming Edition from gigabyte... what can I say, this is just one impressive card that didn't let me down in any way shape or form.
I loved the look of the card and it overclocked so so so so so so high and (1550mhz on air anyone?), it also uses up a lot less power than the previous 780 I had and runs really damn cool (64 degrees at 1550mhz... on AIR....?!?). The noise is virtually not even there and card weighs in at 805 grams, so it is one solid beast, also the card extends to about the same length as a 780 does, so keep that in mind if trying to fit it in small to medium sized cases. With the speeds I got it too it practically came in at a 980 speeds for almost $300 less (where I live).
PC Specs:
4670k @ 4.6ghz / 16GB DDR3 @ 2000mhz / MSI z87 G45 / Intel 335 240GB SSD / PSU - 650 Earthwatts Bronze.
Two things I forgot - the card measures in at just under 30cm, other models from other vendors will most likely be around 26 cm (the size of the GTX 970 PCB). Also the Gigabyte models seem to be cherry picked with the box indicating that with "GPU Gauntlet Sorting".
