Lou Gold presenting his Ancient Forest presentation in 1991 at the AVEDA Congress in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a founder of the Siskiyou Project, a grassroots environmental group that triggered a worldwide effort to save the wild lands and biodiversity of the Klamath-Siskiyou region. As a dynamic storyteller and eloquent voice for the ancient forests of the Pacific Northwest he became nationally known as the pied piper of ecological idealism. His wilderness tales of bears, owls, fungi and wildfire reveal the secrets of old-growth forest ecology and his tough-minded analysis inspired a generation of citizens to act to end the damage being done to the US public forests. His message is one of hope, power and opportunity for all who care about wild places.
