The official launch of the Centre of Research Excellence in Discovering Indigenous Strategies to improve Cancer Outcomes via Engagement, Research Translation and Training (DISCOVER --TT) and the National Indigenous Cancer Network Roundtable 2013 "Connecting, Communicating and Collaborating" held on 12-13 March at Victoria Barracks, Petrie Terrace, Brisbane.
DISCOVER --TT aims to reduce the marked disparities in diagnosis, treatment and survival for Indigenous Australians with cancer. The Centre will develop a coordinated, collaborative, Indigenous-led research program that builds on and extends recent work and brings together the key researchers in this area.
The National Indigenous Cancer Network Roundtable 2013 brought together over 70 representatives from a range of sectors, services and research groups involved in cancer to discuss and report on Pathways and Outcomes of Care, Improving Models of Care, Service Delivery and Research Priorities.
