On 16 May 2011 UNA-UK and the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) held the UK launch event for the newly published Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) guidelines for making development inclusive for disabled people.

The guidelines, developed by the IDDC in collaboration with three UN agencies (WHO, ILO and UNESCO), aim to support the inclusion of disability in the design and implementation of development programmes. The goal of the event was to ensure that the guidelines are used and understood by UK NGOs, donors, media outlets and government bodies active in international development work, and to bring attention to the importance of CBR as a mechanism for making international development more inclusive for the world's most disadvantaged populations.
