First fire up of the motor for the rat rod. Ford 460, dove c heads, MSD ignition, Comp Thumpr cam, Edelbrock 750 carb. The car should end up around 1900 pounds. Think it has enough motor?

@sm325861 no it doesnt matter what year you start with..but my point was, why spend $5 grand (or what ever amount) to bring a stock, later model low hp motor to 365hp when you can get a stock older version 365hp motor to begin with and do nothing to it. Plus I have a dvd on building a drag racing 460, and in the video they say the late 60's early 70's engines had a better block to build with.

real nice sound, mate ! I was enjoying the idle and I was just thinking ` give it a rev' and you did - sounds really nice - in a car that light it should be an amazing thing to drive..

First off, I want to say great choice in motor! And to see Someone put a real motor in a rod, two thumbs up!! Even with car as light as it is 460's are an even display of smooth clean muscle and brute display of blunt force torque! I an curious about cam! Is it the retro or flat tappet! What kind of mods did u go with?

what year mtr is it...just curious for what the stock hp rating was...

I am using the stock springs as I have the rev limiter set at 4800.

perfect..my coupe has a 1969 lincoln 460 in it. stock that year was 365 hp. lincoln weighed in at 6300 lbs and coupe will be around 2300 ilbs.. thats 4000lbs lighter. for evey 100 lbs you take off of a car it has the same effect as adding 10 hp to the engine.so in effect i just added 400 hp to that 365hp and i did nothing to the motor to soup it up.....mine will be a trip too when it is done...love your build man...keep it up..

@WideFuckingOpen1 Still have the stock rockers. The car is so light that the motor is more for looks and sound than needing the power.

@scotty2pa31 Yep c6. Radiator is off ebay. It fits a 1965 mustang I paid about 200 for it, supposed to cool 700hp.
