novelty song, music & lyric by Fred Landau - orig. song
A.O. Scott's NY Times story about his uncle Eli Wallach moved me to Youtube this song.
My own uncle had used the phrase "Frolic like Eli Wallach" to refer to the magic of the movies, that an actor could be shot dead in one movie and then on the same double feature be out having a good time in the next movie an hour later. (It was along the line of: He's totally beaten now, but pretty soon he'll frolic like Eli Wallach.)
P.S. This title is based on an expression apparently heard on TV years ago (we think the title expression may have originated with a wonderful performer named Des O'Connor who had a variety show.)
